Biomechanical Comparison of Different Subtrochanteric Bone Fracture Angles in Cerclage Wiring: Finite Element Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Cerclage wires are regularly hired as fixation gear to resource reposition, enhance alignment and growth stability. In specific femoral shaft, subtrochanteric periprosthetic fractures gain from cerclage fixation. Also in supracondylar shaft fractures, extra cord cerclages proved be than only a reposition device accelerated the general power of osteosynthesis construct. This study tests for stabilizing effect different bone fracture angles with cerclage. oblique were tested (45°, 55°, 65°). Construct stiffness displacements investigated under static loads compared angles. With each wasn't significantly compare Most reduction gap movement was achieved by 65° angle, followed 55° 45° fractures.
All wire generally superior reduced movements whereas 65 degree showing greatest effect. application has emerged potential therapeutic

A Biomechanical Comparison of Two Intramedullary Implants for Subtrochanteric Fracture in Two Healing Stages: A Finite Element Analysis

Background. The biomechanical effect of two implants, namely, proximal femoral nail antirotation for Asia (PFNA-II) and Expert Asian Femoral Nail (A2FN), for treating subtrochanteric fracture during healing stages, is still unclear. Methods. A 3D finite element model of an intact femur was constructed and validated. The fractured and postoperative models were accordingly produced. The postopera...

A Biomechanical Study Comparing Cerclage Wiring Performed with a Power Tool versus the Manual Method.

INTRODUCTION We conducted a biomechanical study comparing cerclage wiring using a power tool with the traditional manual method. MATERIALS AND METHODS Our study consisted of 4 experimental arms based on the method of fixation and diameter of wires. The 4 arms were: 1) power tool method using 0.8 mm cerclage wires, 2) power tool method using 1.0 mm cerclage wires, 3) conventional manual method...

Split Fracture: A Complication of Cerclage Wiring of Acute Patellar Fracture

INTRODUCTION Iatrogenic patellar fracture is reported as a complication of patella procedures, such as medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction, reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee using bone-patellar tendon-bone technique, and resurfacing the patella in total knee arthroplasty. CASE PRESENTATION A 65-year-old lady with right patella fracture was treated with ope...

Biomechanical Evaluation and Comparison of the Artificial and Natural Skin Properties Using Finite Element Method

Introduction: The self-repair process cannot occur in the skin lesions, therefore, skin replacements are used due to the formation of a scar, which resulted in the complete loss of skin. Artificial skin should have the same specifications as the natural skin. The finite element methods were used in this study to evaluate the biomechanichal properties of natural and artificial skins. Materials ...
